i make her a sandwich with ham and lettuce. adding a hardboiled egg to the plate, i give it to her while she reads the paper in bed.
then, i go downstairs and read while my dog snores quietly in the sun.
some days are like this.
quiet.
what it all comes down to is consistency.
that’s the key.
it doesn’t matter what you’re talking about…
training a dog… hitting a fastball… writing a book… painting a picture. or, just making a ham sandwich.
the only thing that matters is doing it over and over again.
before you know it, you get better at it.
then, pretty soon you start to get good.
a few lucky ones even get great.
and in the eyes of the world the great are always lucky.

I like this piece... the short parts between the "other" are good... & I'm takin' your message with me
| Darkness crawls up my pillars And my mind is Drip drip dripping Into a dirty puddle of thoughts Where I have learned to accept my pain And tell it to wait outside |
