The epistemology of fame has always bothered me; the only word I cared to try was notoriety. Fame was framed in glowing names – like celebrity and eminence or crowned in renown and dressed with distinction or leant to prominence. To my shame a reputation bent or maimed defamed the image staid, and disrepute disgraced my case, plagued with infamy and ill repute, a name ablaze by imputation as a most unsavoury reputation won or lost or never claimed. © 16 August 2007, I.D. glad to see you submitting Ivan again, I noticed your avatar is not coming out properly, it could be due to the link to a private blog space, we can link this to our image provider if you like.

Bernie, I'll take a look at the avatar data. I probably didn't enter the pixel dimensions properly! Rest assured, the geezer is a fair representation of the one with sullied rep...

... There, I think the perspective is a tad better - the flattened head has elongated a bit

i like this, like the sounds and rythmes, very rich and full, like the obscurity, dodging in and out. very nice.

Zig, thanks man, I write to hear the sounds - or I hear the sounds and then I write. The rhyme, well if it happens, fine. When I'm well into a fine Shiraz (actually I'm shy) I'll write the admiring words I have for your recent offerings. Ivan

grrr .. what others make of us is often enough to make a walrus wince ... this is a teaser of a poem that makes the reader want to know what happened, but then it was all more than likely a figment of another's imagination anyway ... and i so know that feeling ... the real trouble starts when we fall into their trap and believe it too ... *wry grin* ...

Shell, you're so right! I took the words from a thesaurus search with half an idea and the poem wrote itself - as for maligned reps, heck, who's unsullied anyway?
