‘nother warmish day, 34° on the patio irrigation underway in an Orchard too easily dehydrated by parable to deny
deeply ingrained psychology sprays precious delusionary water where drops of rain would soothe sun-savaged weals
ideas of inanity afoot in arid contempt of what makes the debate germane is amply evidenced but I’ll save the trees
so save yourselves wear buoyancy vests learn how to float between troughs and crests of treason
warming is merely a warning before the downpour begins and a freeze which alleviates your pain © 18 December 2009, I. D. Carswell

it's that time of year isn't it.. i sprayed the hose around just to cool things down this afternoon.. it all evaporated off in no time.
i think you've caught something of heat in here.. the inanity of heat. delusionary water. and the throb of this poem. the starkness of 'but i'll save the trees' like catching oneself think. maybe i am projecting as it's hot tonight but i can read this in here.

heat is part of the scene here but usually there is ample rainfall to compensate. When seasonal rain does not eventuate (& it didn't at the expected times this year) there is little room for complacency. Knowing what causes it doesn't comfort much either!
