The mirror can wait like a beggar in the rain,
like a mouth in the dark.
Its voice speaks; water flowing
Into shadows that sigh.
Idols die of thirst before they give up the ghost;
shrouded figurativeness.

Nicoletta, when you give up this pedantic punctuation I will applaud your ascension. I argue the line - 'they give up the ghost;' should be 'they give up their ghost;' - without punctuation. You don't need any the way this brilliant piece is written...

i was not sure about the line, and googled it, initially i had their ghost, but it seems it is more correct to say 'the ghost'. Thank you Ivan!
