When I slipped into the world it wasn't certain about me. The lines around my body are therefore fudged.
It takes more energy to finish the work of rounding. Rough extrusions remain, statistical shivers of half way.

I like this Don, it illustrates power of brevity - especially with such pungeant images. I wonder if substituting 'heuristical shivers' for 'statistical shivers' might add a little bonus of conjecture to the last lines?

Thanks Ivan. "Heuristical" means something very different from what I intended. I'm looking at randomness.

Yes, I would agree and it fits rather well - adds and alliterative feast to the last two lines ...
