The moment came and went without a fanfare, an event we waited years to witness with our eyes. Indeed a rare complementarity for whom we were – we’re spared no sentiment; whether it was ever meant to err surprise is best left to those who come next – to ponder in deeper retrospect. We’re dead, our hands tipped the balance, air turned black with our ash in shrouds we refused to wear. © 2 November 2007, I. D. Carswell
