'Google Earth'
cutting edge software
with the flick of a wrist zooming in and out of neighborhoods
hovering over Area 51
panning the Australian outbacks
scrolling the Big Apple in 3D
I found my apartment complex I could only see the top of the building though
with a little imagination I could make out an umbrella
a lounge chair
a small table maybe and a tiny white speck closing in
most likely my neighbour from down the hall
I don't know him that well
but he's probably cradling a gin fizz
looking for an empty lounger
anticipating a cool breeze or possibly a rooftop siesta
and billions of dollars spent developing this sosphisticated tracking system
just to remind me
I left my cigarettes on the table near the ashtray
and I have never been to the moon
