we've been together for so many years sometimes I'm not sure which part is me or you.
Yes, I gave up the phone and you’re angry about emergencies and last minute items. But having you always in my pocket takes away surprises like the night we bumped and then thrashed in the dark corner of the yard. There would have been no magic with a texted heads up.
If this wireless chain remains around my neck I might forget you as the girl whose ass I watched while you waited for the Denville train, how quickly I made my move.
The travails outside our lives hover like an invading army. I want to cut their link to us, I want to be one less blip on their radar screen.
